SROs

There will be a total of 60 SRO?s. This will allow the people that need a place to live now. While rent is cheaper than the apartments, some people might have find the $750 monthly rate as a hard pill to swallow. For those that are low income (150% poverty), they will qualify for a program by FSP Realty for their SROs that are designed to be an option until they qualify for subsidized housing. More information can be found at https://fsp.homes/sros/.

The tenant will find that the SROs might be an easier pill to swallow if they only have to pay 35% of their income. It will be cheaper when they get subsidized housing, but the goal is to make it a painful enough pill to continue for subsidized housing while not crippling their finances that a $750 bill might do. With the SROs, it gives you a place to spend some of your time, and have a place to lay your head. This means no more sleeping on the streets or shelters.
